Elizabeth J. Trezevant Community Scholarship
We understand that every child is not cut out to go to college, if a youth wins, he or she will be able to spend the money responsibly as he or she wishes.
Mrs. Elizabeth J. Trezevant, Sunrise May,29 1934 to Sunset, March 30th 2023.
Mrs. Trezevant was the first and longest running Director for Project Unity USA. She was an RN for Richland Memorial Hosptital and a long time member of St. John Baptist Church of Columbia.
Mrs.Trezevant was blessed with five children, Ezekial Trezevant, Bruce Trezevant, Dennis Trezevant, Gail Trezevant-Span and Samuel Trezevant.
Mrs. Trezevant was a woman that would help anyone and becuase of this she had many young adults that adopted her as thier very own.
On behalf of Mrs. Trezevant, Project Unity USA has created the Elizabeth J. Trezevant scholarship fund.
This scholarship gives youth a voice to express themsleves on how gunviolence has affected there lives.
Applicants must submit a 400-word essay on the topic "How gun violence has affected my life" by Tuesday, June 20, 2023.
Two $1,000 scholarships will be presented at the Corvettes United Against Gun Violence rally on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the S. C. Statehouse on Main Street at 11 a.m. Scholarship recipients will be given the opportunity to read their essays at the rally.
Each applicant will recieve a certificate of participation.
