Founders Corner

Picture Bruce A. Trezevant
Meet Mr. Bruce A. Trezevant, a distinguished figure and the driving force behind Project Unity USA, where he serves as the Founder and CEO. Among his proudest accomplishments is the development of the CWSS-RAPTOR system.

Mr. Trezevant's journey began with the establishment of Project Unity SC in August 2006, which later evolved into Project Unity USA in 2008. This transformation was necessitated by the organization's growing footprint, extending its services to Los Angeles, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.

Rooted in a legacy of community service, Mr. Trezevant's family has been a cornerstone of social progress. His grandmother, Mrs. Eva P. Trezevant, was a trailblazer as the first black female voter in South Carolina. She was a dedicated community activist and the founder of the Avant Garde Cultural and Developmental Club, which instilled etiquette and cultural values in young black men and women. Mrs. Eva P. Trezevant also held the position of President at the South Carolina Federation of Women and Girls Club.

His father, the late Ezekiel H. Trezevant, Jr., played a pivotal role in his community by establishing the Eva P. Trezevant Memorial Library in a low-income neighborhood, providing essential resources like computer training and reading materials while creating a safe haven for the youth. He also took the remarkable initiative of establishing the first Black Owned Crematorium in South Carolina.

Mrs. Elizabeth J. Trezevant, Mr. Trezevant's mother, has been a steadfast supporter of Project Unity USA and its community events and projects. Her compassionate nature shone in her career as a retired nurse at Richland Memorial Hospital, where she cared for countless residents of Columbia.

Beyond his family's legacy, Mr. Bruce Trezevant has dedicated his life to public service. He has served as Sgt. at Arms for the Eau Claire Rotary, a Past SC board member at Engenuity, and has been an active member of the Gang Prevention Study Committee for the state of South Carolina, among many other board and committee roles.

Affectionately known as "Mr. Bruce," he has exhibited incredible selflessness by donating a kidney to a high school friend and offering unwavering support throughout his friend's journey.

The mission of Project Unity USA is to foster unity within communities by bringing together five vital groups: the Community, Law Enforcement, Politicians, Clergy, and Business. The goal is to facilitate a shared understanding of how each group can contribute to building safer communities for all. Central to this mission is the emphasis on training and organization.

Project Unity USA stands as a rapidly expanding multifaceted nonprofit organization. It extends an open invitation to other nonprofits to join in their collective efforts to create safer, more vibrant communities where everyone can live, work, and play without fear.
